Description
This barn, located 60 meters southwest of Linstead Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a thatched roof. The structure consists of five bays, featuring a central entrance bay and a porch on the west side. The walls are supported by straight bracing that bisects the studs, and the trusses have straight bracing at the corners. The roof includes two rows of staggered butt purlins. Attached to the southeast corner is a small 19th-century stable block made from similar materials. The barn is noted for its group value and is a well-preserved example of its period.
