Description
White House Cottages, originally one house and now divided into two cottages, date back to the 17th century. There is a later addition of colourwashed brick on the right side, likely from the 19th century. The building features a timber frame with plaster, except for the left gable end, which is roughcast-rendered, and has a pantiled roof. It is two storeys high and has a three-cell layout, probably originally with a cross passage entry. There are three windows, with 19th and 20th century casements; No. 2 has a mid-20th century half-glazed door, while No. 1 has a mid-20th century door in a small addition to the left gable end. There is an internal stack and a one-bay addition with casement windows under segmental arches. Some of the timber frame is exposed internally.
