Description
This building is a barn located 15 meters west of West Farmhouse, which includes an addition to the southwest. It dates from the mid-16th century and has 19th-century additions. The structure is timber framed, covered in tarred weatherboarding, and features a thatched roof. It consists of three bays and has a central cart entrance with a porch to the south. The porch is flanked by 19th-century lean-to additions made of flint and brick with pantiled roofs. Inside, there is a well-preserved timber frame with some original diamond mullion windows, and it has a clasped purlin roof with arched wind-bracing; however, the first floor has been removed. The later addition is made of random flint and stone with red brick dressings, and the upper portion is also weatherboarded with a thatched roof. Part of this group of buildings is situated in the parish of Great Glemham.
