Description
Boundary Farmhouse is a former farmhouse with a core dating back to the 16th century, featuring a mid-19th century extension and alterations. The building is two storeys high with attics and has two wings extending on the south side, creating a half-H shape. It is timber-framed and encased in 19th century colour-washed brick, except for the gables of the wings, which are rendered. The roofs are covered with plaintiles, and the gables have fluted bargeboards. Inside, there is a red brick chimney stack with pilaster strips and a dentil cornice on the shaft. The main range has large-paned sash windows, while the wings feature various casement windows. There is an enclosed gabled porch with a door that has four sunk panels. The east wing and the central range are believed to be the oldest parts of the house, while the west wing is a 19th century addition. Notable interior features include a main beam with a large chamfer and curved stops, along with a few exposed plain ceiling beams.
