Description

Pound Farm Cottages, originally a single house, was later divided into three cottages. The core of the building dates to the 17th century, with a mid-19th century addition to the north; the northern cottage was modernized in 1982-3. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with evidence of ashlar lining to the old plasterwork. The north gable is brick, while the 19th-century addition is flint and brick, painted, with weatherboarded first floor. The roof is pantiled across both sections. The original part of the house has a four-window front. The unmodernized cottages have 3-light casements, with some square leaded panes to the first-floor windows. The northern cottage has large-pane casements from the mid-20th century. There are three plain boarded doors. One internal stack and a gable end stack are present on the north side. The centre cottage features 2½ panels of ornamental plasterwork above the fireplace on the first floor.
