Description
Longfields is a former pair of cottages that has been converted into a single house, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building is constructed from random knapped flint with red brick dressings, and features a rendered south gable and a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high and has a four-window range, with two-light and three-light casements set under segmental arches, and louvred shutters. Two of the windows are careful later insertions that replaced former doorways. There is a mid-20th century brick extension at the rear. On the north side, there is a doorway that is said to have come from the demolished Sudbourne Hall (which was taken down in 1951); it features a six-panel door with the upper two panels glazed, carved borders on the panels, and a cornice supported by elongated console brackets.
