Description
The Timberyard is a building originally constructed as a stable block for the old Glemham House, now converted into three cottages. It dates from the 18th century and was likely converted in the early 19th century. The structure is made of red brick and features a roof covered with glazed pantiles. It is a single storey with an attic.
The original design included a range of three semi-circular headed windows on either side of the central block. Most of the existing windows are three-light small pane casements with hood moulds, and there are two dormers with segmental roofs. The central block is slightly set forward and has a pediment, with a blocked circular opening in the tympanum that may have once held a clock face. The doorway features a modern door and a semi-circular panel above it. Inside, there is an original central stack with a square base and an octagonal top section, along with three later internal stacks.
