Description
The Grove is a house dated 'JN 1796', located in Great Glemham. It is constructed of white brick with a slated roof and is mainly two storeys high, with part of it featuring an attic. The building has a three-window range with sash windows that include glazing bars in cased frames, and flat brick arches above. There is a bracketed wooden cornice at the eaves and ornamental wrought iron brackets supporting the gutters. The central doorway is notable, featuring an inset eight-panel door and a semi-circular fanlight with glazing bars, along with panelled reveals. This doorway is flanked by pilasters and wooden columns on heavy square bases, with additional panelling between them. A large flat-roofed portico is supported by similar wooden columns. The left side of the building has a full-height three-light splayed bay and a four-window range overall. There is also a doorway with a classical surround and paired glazed doors, as well as two lean-to greenhouses.
