Description

This signpost, located 20 meters northeast of St. Peter's Church tower in Yoxford, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It features a circular cast iron column that stands approximately 4 meters tall. The signpost has three signs with openwork cast iron lettering and a pointing finger at the end. Scrolled bracing surrounds the column, displaying the distances to various locations, and it is topped with a ball finial. The distances indicated on the signs are Framlingham 10 miles, Yarmouth 30 miles, and London 93 miles. This signpost is a rare survival from its period.
