Description
This cast iron signpost, dating from the 20th century, features a fluted Doric column design and has four arms. The lower two arms display raised lettering indicating distances to PENALT (2 and a half miles) and NARTH (1 mile to TRELLECK). Above these, the upper arms show distances to WHITEBROOK (1 and three-quarters miles) and MONMOUTH (5 miles). The top of the post is adorned with a vertical ring that is inscribed with "MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL."
