Description

London House is an early to mid-19th century house and shop, possibly incorporating an older core. The main part of the building is constructed of red brick with a facade of white brick, and has a roof of black pantiles, with plain tiles to the rear. It is two storeys high, with a three-window front. The windows are 3-light casements with small panes, set within flat brick arches. The asymmetrical entrance has a 6-panel door, the upper two panels glazed, flanked by pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. The building has a brick dentil eaves cornice and a hipped roof with an internal stack. A late 19th century shop was later added, projecting forward on the left side of the building, and is constructed of weatherboard with a pantiled roof. The building is included on the list for group value.
