Description

Fairfield Preparatory School, now a school, was originally built in the early 19th century, with a porch added in the early 20th century. The building is constructed of gault brick with slate hipped roofs and a brick stack.

The main facade is a two-storey, five-window front, with a recessed two-storey section to the right. The central bay projects forward and features a single-storey closed porch with a repurposed six-panel door. Above the door is the original fanlight. The windows are 8/8 unhorned sashes with gauged skewback arches. A single bay to the right has an elliptical carriage arch on the ground floor and an 8/8 unhorned sash above. The rear of the building features a two-storey, two-bay section with a glazed cupola on the roof. The interior has not been inspected.
