Description
Brook Cottages is a house from the early 17th century that has been divided into two separate homes. It stands two storeys high with attics and features a three-cell internal chimney plan, likely with a cross-passage. The building is timber-framed and rendered, topped with clay pantiles. An internal red brick stack has three attached hexagonal shafts on a rectangular, partially rendered base.
The upper floor has three 3-light casement windows with transoms and one 2-light window, while the ground floor has two 3-light windows and one 2-light window; the windows in No. 1 are 20th-century replacements designed in a traditional style. No. 1 has a studded 20th-century plank door and an open rustic gabled porch, while No. 2 features an old plank door. The gables are adorned with fluted barge-boards. The interior has not been examined.
