Description

A house, built in the 17th century and now divided into two residential units. It has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The upper portion is timber-framed with a colourwashed brick plinth and colourwashed plaster, with some pargeting decoration. The roof is tiled. The building is two storeys high. A central brick chimney is built of red brick with projecting courses and two pots, shared between the two properties. On the ground floor, No.44 has two flush casement windows, while No.46 has one modern casement window. The first floor has two altered casement windows to No.44 and one to No.46. A boarded and battened entrance door serves No.44, recessed within a plain surround and protected by a projecting weatherboard head supported on cut brackets, against the chimney stack, with a baffle entry arrangement. A modern entry door is located to the left, serving No.46.
