Description

No. 25, Crib Street is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th and 20th centuries. The rear of the building is timber-framed and plastered, with plaster also used in the gables. The front has been refronted and cased in yellow brick in a Flemish bond, and has an old tiled roof, half-hipped on the left, with a moulded wooden cornice. A yellow brick chimneystack is located on the right. The house is two storeys and has attics above a cellar. It features a plinth and a first-floor band. There are two flush-set sash windows with glazing bars on each floor; the ground-floor windows have cambered arches. A central six-panel door, set in steps, is contained within a flush-panelled reveal and flanked by slim reeded pilasters. A two-storey plastered outshoot has an old tiled roof and a tall, square yellow brick chimneystack with an oversailing top and four pots.
