Description
This is a barn located approximately 7 yards northwest of Church Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century or 18th century. It is timber framed with a clapboard covering and a slate roof. The barn has a single-aisled plan, featuring one later cross wall and a 19th-century extension. The yard front has a deep plinth made of Flemish bond brick, with a double doorway to the left of center that reaches the full wall height, and a single doorway on the right. Attached to the right gable end is a shorter 19th-century extension that connects to a range of cow byres, which are not included in this listing. Inside, the wall posts and arcade posts have arched braces that rise to the straight tie beams. The roof features collars and wind bracing, while the walls have close studding with passing halved angle braces. The aisle posts support arched braces that connect to the aisle tie.
