Description
This is a barn located 75 meters west-southwest of Bentries Farmhouse, dating from the 16th century with an 18th-century extension to the south. The barn is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a pantiled roof. It originally consists of five bays, featuring a central cart entrance and a porch on the east side. Inside, there is a threshing floor in the center bay, and the wall framing includes a middle rail. About half of the arched braces have been replaced by bolted-on knees, and the roof is supported by queen posts. The two-bay extension, which once had an intermediate floor, now has large modern double doors on the later gable end. Additionally, there are lean-to extensions on both the east and west sides.
