Description

The Maltings to Baker's Mill is an L-shaped range of modest red brick industrial buildings from the 19th century, featuring one and two storeys with slate and pantile roofs. A kiln, located at the south-west corner, is now covered in slate on only one side and serves as a well-known local landmark. The building's frontage on Prentice Street, situated between No 44 and 45 (Mill House), is two storeys high and has a three-window arrangement with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars. The facade is enhanced with pilaster treatment and a raised brick band between the storeys, and the roof is covered in slate.
