Description
No. 7 is a house with an attached garage located on Vicar Street in Wymondham. It has origins dating back to the 17th century, with some remaining timber framing visible at the rear. The house was rebuilt in brick in the early 19th century in a Gothick style. The roof is covered with black glazed pantiles and the building stands two storeys high with three bays.
The central entrance features a panelled door beneath a neo-Georgian fanlight, which has eclectic influences and is set within a gauged round arch. On either side of the door, there are three-light casement windows under 4-centred arches, with arched lights. The first floor has three similar 2-light windows under round arches. A timber eaves cornice runs below the bell-based gabled roof, which has a 20th-century gable-end stack on the north side.
Attached to the south of the house is a two-storey garage that was formerly a carriage house. It has a plank door to the left that leads to a passage at the rear, and double timber garage doors to the right. The garage also has a gabled roof covered with pantiles.
