Description

The precinct walls to the northeast of the Abbey Church date back to the 16th century and have been rebuilt at various times since. They are constructed of flint, with some sections featuring brick and ashlar coping. At the northeast corner, the walls end at a 19th-century wrought iron gate made by Boulton & Paul of Norwich, which includes round stiles. The section of the wall along Chapel Street concludes to the west at the Sunday School. The limestone coping has a wide fillet.
