Description
No. 42 Teme Street is a house that has been converted into a garage. It dates from around 1600 and has undergone alterations in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. The building is timber-framed with painted brick infill and replacement walling, topped with a plain tiled roof. It consists of a single framed bay that runs north to south and features two storeys plus an attic with a dormer.
The framing includes three rows of small square panels that are exposed at the first floor level. On the west front elevation, the ground floor has a recessed 9-pane sash window with a moulded architrave, while the first floor has a 2-light casement window and a gabled dormer with another 2-light casement. The majority of the ground floor is taken up by a square-headed archway with a moulded architrave and double doors.
