Description
No. 17 Maidstone Road is a house with a late 18th-century facade that may be part of a building dating back to the 17th century. It features a timber frame with a chequered red and grey brick facade and a plain tile roof. The right gable end is hung with fishscale tiles. The house has two storeys and a garret set on a plinth, with plain projecting eaves. It has a half-hipped bellcast roof with gablets and a central brick ridge stack. The garret end is lit, and the windows have an irregular arrangement, consisting of two glazing-bar sashes. The ground-floor windows are adorned with rubbed brick voussoirs. There is a half-glazed door that is slightly off-centre to the left, with a plastered semi-circular recess directly above it, also featuring rubbed brick voussoirs. The interior has not been inspected.
