Description

This early 19th-century bank and surgery appears to have an earlier core. It is constructed of painted brick with a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high, with a cellar, and sits on a plinth. The facade is divided into two distinct builds, indicated by a straight joint running down the centre. A plat band runs along the left half of the facade. A moulded wood eaves cornice tops the building. The roof abuts the building at No. 6 to the left. A rear stack is located to the right. The fenestration is regular, with 2-light glazing-bar sash windows. A 19th-century shop front is present on the right half, incorporating a half-glazed door with a rectangular fanlight at the left end. A cellar hatch with a segmental head is located beneath the left ground-floor window. The interior remains uninspected.
