Description
Nos. 2, 4, 6, and 6A on Maidstone Road is a row of houses with an early 19th-century facade that likely covers an older building. The right side of the ground floor is finished in printed brick, while the left side features channelled stucco. The first floor is adorned with fishscale tiles and the building has a plain tile roof. It stands two storeys high with attics on a plinth, and the roof is half-hipped to the left. There are two brick ridge stacks and five eaves dormers with trefoiled bargeboards. The windows are arranged irregularly, consisting of two long rectangular 12-pane sashes on the left, two horizontally-sliding sashes, and one 20th-century casement on the right. Each house has a four-panelled door with flat bracketed hoods; one door for No. 6A is located to the left of the left stack, one for No. 6 is to the right of the left stack, and those for Nos. 4 and 2 are adjacent under the right stack. Additionally, there is a boarded door for No. 6A in the left gable end. The left half of the row features narrow two-storey rear lean-tos. The interiors have not been inspected.
