Description
A house row of early 19th century origin, located on Maidstone Road in Lenham. The front elevation is finished with channelled stucco, while the left gable end is weatherboarded. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features a mansard roof, a moulded wood eaves cornice with small dentils, three plain dormers, and two rear chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high, with attics and a cellar, and sits on a plinth. The fenestration is regular, with three glazing-bar sashes to each floor. The ground floor of number 21, on the left, has two bow windows finished with moulded cornices, while number 23 features an early 20th century rectangular bay window. Number 21’s fielded panelled door is set up four steps between the bow windows, and number 23’s fielded panelled door is set up three steps. Both doorcases incorporate reeded pilasters and open pediments with semi-circular fanlights containing radiating glazing bars. The interiors were not inspected.
