Description
No. 64 High Street is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It features a timber frame that is roughcast on a brick plinth, with grey brick facing on the recessed ground floor front. The building has steep old red tile roofs and a large red brick external gable chimney on the south side, which has crow-steps leading to a lower offset.
The house is two storeys tall, with a gabled bay on the front that has bargeboards. The upper floor is jettied and supported by heavy bull-nosed joists and brackets, and the eaves are also bracketed. The windows are sash style in flush frames, and there is a six-panel door. At the rear, there is a large gabled wing that is plastered, featuring a canted bay window that rises above a square lower bay and an external chimney.
