Description
This is a barn located at No 64 on Standon High Street, dating from the 17th to early 18th century. It has a timber frame that is weatherboarded and sits on a low brick sill. The roof is made of red pantiles with slate courses at the eaves. The barn is a low rectangular structure facing south, with its east gable on the roadside. The southwest part of the barn is open-fronted and supported by curved braces from posts that are set back from the wall line. There are lozenge pattern cast iron windows set into the sides of the barn. This building is an important feature in the street scene, particularly opposite the church, and is included for its group value.
