EASTON RINGLAND LANE TG 11 SW Lower Easton 1/59 Hill Farmhouse II

Late C17. South wing extension early C19. Colourwashed brick with pantiled roof. L-plan farmhouse. Lobby Entrance with central axial stack in south wing. Facade of 2-storeys with disused attic and 3 bays. Entrance originally in centre bay. Segmental arches with rubbed brick voussoirs above ground floor windows. Restored mullion and transom window frames. Moulded brick cornice and rusticated brick quoins. Steeply pitched roofs. North facade rebuilt with C19 moulded brick finial on north east angle. West gable has a blocked window into roof space with possible surviving mullion. Early C19 extension has a saw-tooth cornice and casement windows. All windows ar rear late C20. C17 roof with staggered butt-purlins, collar and tie beams. 2 trusses in West wing supported by wall posts on south side only. Original winding stair between corridor and stack on facade side rises two storeys. Four-facetted jewel cap on top newel. Most principal beams visible. Original stack but fireplace modern.
