Description

Moor Farm House is a late 16th-century farmhouse constructed of brick with a pantiled roof. It features a lobby entrance type plan and has been extended to the east. The building is two storeys high and has an outshut to the south.

On the south elevation, there are three windows, a flint plinth, and 17th-century brickwork. A 20th-century casement window is set in the original opening and has a brick hood mould above it. There is a small window on the first floor with a brick hood mould, along with two 19th-century casements that have segmental brick arches.

The north elevation includes a first-floor casement window with a brick hood mould and single splayed reveals and sill. There is a small window with a 17th-century timber frame, and below it, a 20th-century window is set in the original opening with a hood mould. A blocked door opposite the stack also features a hood mould. The gables have parapets with brick kneelers and tumbling in. The west gable has a plinth and a ground floor window with a hood mould.

To the east, there is a gabled 19th-century extension with a south outshut that has casement windows. The house has an almost central axial stack with four moulded bases for chimney shafts. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a timber bressumer in the central bay and evidence of a brick arched fireplace in the parlour. The ceiling joists are closely spaced, and there is a stopped and chamfered axial beam. A winding stair leads to the first floor and attics, featuring a stopped and chamfered newel. The house contains 17th-century plank doors in frames with mason's mitres, stops, and chamfers, and an exposed axial beam is present in the west bedroom.
