Description
Bellevue is a building located in Lower Easton, with a date marked on the south gable of 1728, although its main structure dates back to the 16th century. It was originally designed as an open hall house, featuring a two-storey service end with a solar above and a 17th-century inserted floor. The exterior is finished with white-washed render over a timber frame, set on a plinth made of flint and brick, topped with a thatched roof that has a slight batter. The building has scattered 18th-century casement windows and a 17th-century gable end stack. There is a 20th-century single-storey extension added to the side. The entrance remains in its original position, with surviving service doorways located on the south side. Inside, there is a cambered tie-beam on wall-posts and a closed truss with arch braces beneath, which incorporates the entrance to the solar.
