Description
The barn at Brundish Farm is a former threshing barn that has been repurposed as a general-purpose agricultural building. It dates from the late 16th century and features a timber frame covered in tarred weatherboarding. The building has a steeply-pitched roof made of corrugated iron sheeting and consists of five structural bays. On the west side, there is a large double door opening, with a lean-to porch on the opposing east side. The roof structure includes clasped purlins and curved wind braces supporting the principal rafters. The north and south bays have either been re-roofed or are later additions. The original tie beams with arch-braces have been replaced by timber knees, and there are curved braces connecting the wall plate to the main posts.
