Description
The stable block at Raveningham Hall, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, has been converted into garages and stores. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped roof made of black glazed pantiles. The building has a two-storey, 'U' shaped layout that surrounds a courtyard open to the east.
The west range showcases semicircular headed shallow arcading that is one and a half storeys high, consisting of five bays. The ground floor has sash windows with glazing bars, while the upper level features casements and loading doors. A continuous platband runs along the first floor. The central bay includes a double door with a fanlight above.
At the ridge line, there is a central clock turret with a square base that has octagonal clock faces on the east and west sides. Above this, four square colonnettes support a bellcote topped with an ogee lead-covered dome and a weathervane. The south range has a large semicircular headed opening, although some openings have been altered and partly infilled.
The entrance arch to the driveway features a semicircular arch with a flat parapet topped by a ball finial. The square panelled brick gate piers leading to the hall have moulded brick caps and acorn finials. This building is included for its group value with the hall.
