Description
Hales House is a farmhouse located on Hales Church Lane, with the east range dated 1892 on the north gable and a 17th-century lobby entrance pile at the rear. There is a later gault brick range that is not of special interest. The earlier range is rendered and whitewashed, likely over a timber frame, and features brick return gables. It has a steeply-pitched pantile roof and is two storeys tall with attics, following a double pile plan. The earlier range includes five sash windows with glazing bars and architraves, with those on the south side arranged in closely-set pairs. There is an attic sash window in the south gable, with a 19th-century lean-to conservatory below it. A square red brick chimney stack is located off-centre to the south, and the eaves are dentilled. The later colourwashed brick range to the north has a shallower roof pitch and features casement windows.
