ELLINGHAM TM 39 SE 7/90 Icehouse At Ellingham Hall (at TM 35759241)

Icehouse to Ellingham Hall (q.v.) Circa 1830. Rendered brickwork with flint, pebble and gault brick facade. Ovoid chamber with stepped passageway. Gothic-style facade with raised rubbed brick dressings to four-centred doorway and arched keyed parapet with moulded cornice. Interior: Barrel-vaulted passage; chamber formerly floored; large hook at vault crown and surviving lead vent pipe.
