Description
This is a 17th-century barn located approximately 30 meters southwest of Avenue Farm Cottages. It features a timber frame that is clad in corrugated steel and asbestos sheeting, with a brick gable on the south side. The barn has a steeply-pitched roof also covered in asbestos sheeting. It consists of four structural bays, with studwork and diagonal bracing, and has tongued ogee bases to the jowls. There is a double door opening on the east side and a lean-to porch with lower double door openings on the west side. The principal rafters are supported by collars and two tiers of butt purlins, and there is diagonal wind bracing in the roof. The parapeted brick gable on the south has two window openings. Additionally, there are later lean-tos on the east and west sides.
