Description
The Manor House is a country house built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from gault brick and features a hipped slate roof. The house has two storeys and attics, with an L-shaped plan. The principal facade faces west and is symmetrical, with six windows arranged in three bays. The outer bays contain sashes with glazing bars, and there are gauged brick arches above the openings. The two central bays are slightly advanced and feature an entrance portico supported by two Doric columns in antis. The entrance door is a six-panel design with an architrave and a rectangular fanlight above. A flat roof above the entablature forms a verandah, which is adorned with a good wrought iron balustrade. There are two pairs of glazed doors on the first floor that lead to the verandah. The house also has plain corner pilasters and modillion eaves, with two chimney stacks positioned behind the ridge line. The garden elevation to the south is symmetrical, with an advanced central bay that contains two tall sashes with glazing bars, extending to floor level and providing access to steps leading down to the garden. A platband is present at the first floor level, and there is a hipped two-storey extension to the northeast.
