Description

Middle Farm Barn is an 18th-century barn that features a timber frame and is weatherboarded. The roof on the west side is covered with asbestos sheets, while the east side has pantiles. The barn has double doors that reach full height, located on the south gable and in the center of the east side. The roof slopes to accommodate an aisled interior. The barn's construction includes heavy scantling for the studwork, a tie beam supported by straight braces, and struts connecting to the lower of two tiers of staggered butt purlins. There are collars and arched braces to the wall plate on the west side, with posts standing on brick piers that jut from the wall.
