Description

The ice house, located about 18 meters west-northwest of number 21, dates from around 1800. It is constructed of header-bond brick, featuring stone jambs at the entrance and stone reinforcing beams in the entrance passage. The structure has a deep cylindrical chamber with a brick domed top that is entirely below ground. There is a loading chute at the top of the dome. The entrance passage, which is now blocked below ground level, is situated to the west of the chamber and was originally accessed via a flight of brick steps. The iron hoist for lifting the ice remains in place.
