Description
The Windmill at Hickling Heath is a tower mill built in 1817. It features a circular brick tower that tapers upwards and is topped with a weatherboarded, boat-shaped cap. The mill has seven storeys. On the east side, there is a segmental-headed door at both the ground and first floors. Above these doors, there are five segmental-headed windows. Similar windows are present on each floor facing the cardinal points, except on the north side where only one window remains unblocked. The cap retains its petticoat and fan cradle. Inside, the machinery is well-preserved, including the brakewheel, windshaft, and three pairs of French stones with vats.
