Description
The granary, located to the north of Hickling Hall, is a 17th-century structure that has been altered and is currently used as a general storage outbuilding. It is built from brick and flint, featuring a roof made of pantiles and plain tiles. The building has two storeys. On the west side, there is a segmental-headed doorway on the left, and to the right, a horizontal louvred window set under a relieving arch. The first floor is lit by a four-light timber mullioned window, with an access door to the hay loft positioned to the right. The east side of the granary includes a honeycomb dove cote situated under the eaves. The north gable is stepped and topped with brick coping stones, while the south gable head has been rebuilt.
