Description
Eastfield Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1710, with a mid-18th century extension to the south. It is constructed of brick and features thatched roofs. The main range is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The central door is panelled and is located below an overlight. There are two sash windows on the ground floor, which have glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. The first floor has three 20th-century casement windows. The corners of the elevation are enhanced with pilasters. The gabled roof has internal gable end stacks, and both the north and south gables are shaped. At the rear, there are two blocked windows, one of which has a small 20th-century casement in a reduced opening. The eaves line of the gable heads features platbands. The north gable head has two 20th-century windows, while the corresponding windows on the south side have been blocked to allow for a single storey and dormer attic extension. There are two 20th-century windows and one 20th-century door. The roof is gabled and includes one gabled dormer at the rear. Inside the kitchen, there is a chamfered bridging beam and inglenook fireplaces. A winder staircase is located by the south stack. The roof structure consists of tie beams, two tiers of taper-tenoned butt purlins, and collars.
