Description
Poplar Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse that was refronted around 1820. It is constructed of brick and has a roof made of black glazed pantiles. The building is two storeys tall and features three bays, with the central bay projecting forward. There is a central panelled door situated beneath a six-vaned fanlight, which is set within round arched recessed reveals. The entrance is accentuated by a Doric portico porch supported by fluted columns and plain pilasters. The corners of the elevation are also adorned with pilasters. The windows are sash types with glazing bars, positioned beneath gauged skewback arches. A modillion eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The roof is gabled and has internal end stacks. On either side of the facade, there are short pavilion walls; the right one includes a window that lights a single-storey outbuilding behind it, while the left one has a blocked door.
