Description
Heath Farmhouse is a farmhouse with early 17th century origins, rebuilt in the 18th century and altered in the 19th century. There is evidence of an earlier timber framed structure. The building features colourwashed brick and a thatched roof, standing two storeys tall. The east side has five irregular bays, with the center two bays recessed. It has a mixed selection of casements under segmental or straight heads, and one half-glazed door. The roof is gabled with an internal stack on the south side, a ridge stack to the right of center, and an external stack on the north side. The north gable wall retains 17th century brickwork and is dominated by a stepped external stack, which was rebuilt when the building was heightened in the 18th century. The west side has a facade of three bays, with a timber lean-to porch flanked by 18th century casements on both sides, and two similar casements on the first floor. Further south, there is a two-storey gabled cross wing with an external gable end stack. Abutting to the south is a two-storey extension that has been much altered and rebuilt, now lacking interest.
