Barn 45M South East Of Catfield Hall

This is a 5-stead threshing barn located 45 meters southeast of Catfield Hall, dating from the early 18th century and restored in 1953. The barn is constructed of brick with occasional burnt headers and features a thatched roof. The west side has two asymmetrical full-height double doors for entry, and there is a rendered brick plinth at the base. Honeycomb ventilation panels are placed at intervals along the walls. The eaves were rebuilt in 1953, and the barn has a gabled roof, with the south gable head covered in weatherboarding. The east side has been altered, and the gabled transept entrance has been partly rebuilt. Inside, the roof structure consists of tie beams and diminished principals, with two tiers of purlins— the lower ones butted and the upper ones clasped with collars. Curved windbracing is present below the upper purlins.
