Description

Melrose Cottage and Maynard House are a pair of early to mid-19th century buildings. They are stuccoed with a pantile roof and a hipped design. The buildings are three storeys high and have five windows, which are sashes. Maynard House has glazing bars in the sashes. There are two first-floor canted bay windows with sashes. The ground floor features three-panelled doors, each with a rectangular fanlight above. Maynard House has a hood with a cornice supported by plain brackets. Melrose Cottage and Maynard House contribute to a group of buildings that includes Nos. 2, 4 and 6 Brook Street and Wenduyne.
