Description
Wolferton Station House, located approximately 150 metres southeast of the signal box, was built in 1897 as the Station Master's house. The building features a combination of carstone, brick, and pebble dash, with plain tiles on the roof. It has an irregular plan and stands two storeys tall. The ground floor is constructed of small carstone with brick dressings, and there is a moulded brick string course with an egg and dart pattern. The first floor is half-timbered and finished with pebble dash.
The northeast facade has three bays, with a central two-storey projecting porch that is open on the ground floor to the front and left side. Above the porch, the first floor is gabled and features a casement window with three Gothick headed lights. Below this window is a stone frieze carved with a shamrock, thistle, and rose, which is dated 1897. There is also a relief rondel depicting the head of the Prince of Wales wearing a horned coronet, inscribed "JARL EDWARD."
On the southeast facade, there is a polygonal turret at the left angle topped with a polygonal roof and a weathercock. To the right, a projecting two-storey bay is covered by a half-hipped roof with fretwork bargeboards. The building is included for its group value.
