Description

Dated 1850. Asymmetrical single storey station/stationmaster's

house. Tudor. T-plan, built of coursed stugged and squared

rubble with ashlar dressings. SW elevation: shallow advanced

gable to right with hood-moulded window, gabled timber porch

in re-entrant angle, 3 windows to left of latter (outer 2

close-spaced narrow lights). NE elevation (to railway

track): canted window in gable (left), 2-bay range adjoins

at right, both these formerly linked by canopy; stonework

below latter painted. Sash windows, mostly retaining original lying-panes; projecting eaves; wall-head or axial stacks

with diamond flues (2 rebuilt in brick); slate roofs.

Timber-built lean-to to SE with vallance.
