Description
The building is a railway station and station master's house, constructed between 1846 and 1850. It is a single-storey structure made of squared and snecked rubble with ashlar dressings, featuring raised margins and a base course. The station entrance is on the east side, with a door set in an advanced gabled bay, flanked by two windows on the right and one window on the left. The station master's house is located on the north side, with a door flanked by two windows to the left and an advanced gabled bay with a window to the right.
To the south, there is a platform with a timber waiting room adjoining the advanced bay on the right, which has decorative boarding. The building features sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern and iron security bars. The low-pitched roof is covered with grey slates and has bracketed eaves, along with decorative cans on the ridge stack. Additionally, there are two wall-mounted drinking fountains.
The south platform waiting room is also made of timber with decorative boarding and has large windows with nine slim mullions. It has a low single-pitch roof with bracketed eaves.
