Description

2 adjoining 2-storey 3-bay houses, now forming Nithsdale

Hotel. NO 1 is early 19th century, and is set back from

High Street; N0 3 is mid 18th century and altered, with

3 ground floor and 2 1st floor windows to High Street

(central door blocked cira 1980), modern door in W

gable. All pebble-dashed, with painted ashlar margins;

sash windows, mostly with 4-pane glazing. Straight

skews; only westmost end stack survives; slate roofs. No 1

has blind central 1st floor window, flanking windows probably

enlarged late 19th century; 2 piended canted dormers.
