Description

The former station master's house at Castle Station, dating from around 1860, is now a residential property. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof, supported by three coped side wall stacks. The building has a plinth, dentillated eaves, and bracketed sills. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range of margin light sashes arranged in a 2:1 pattern. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with an overlight, flanked on the left by two sashes. To the right, there is a projecting wing with two additional sashes. All window and door openings have moulded segmental heads. The right side of the building includes a hipped single-storey addition with two windows.
